We are very excited to be part of an exclusive designer accessory evening hosted by Bridal Rogue Gallery at its prestigious London boutique.  The event is being held on Thursday 19th May 6-9pm.

Bridal Rogue Gallery have recently undertaken an extensive refurbishment, and the accessory event is the grand unveiling of the new look boutique.

I will be sharing my top tips for choosing headdresses and jewellery to suit your style and we will have our latest collections on show for you to try.

The wonderful hair and make-up artist Alexis Daly will be on hand to give you a mini hair trial and to discuss what you want to do with your hair and make-up on the big day.  Not only can you have your hair styled, enjoy a glass of champagne while West One Beauty do nail varnishing so you can leave the event feeling all glammed up!

Sneaky Peek at Enchanted Garden Bracelets

We are very excited about a new collection we are designing to add to the Enchanted Garden Collection.

Each one of these is made with an eclectic mix of gemstones, and every bracelet is one-of-a-kind.

They are currently on sale in the gift shop at The Medicine Garden, where we are now based, and are flying off the shelves faster than we can make them!  So they will be appearing on our website very soon.

They have a very organic design, and are popular for every day wear, or for relaxed summer or beach weddings.  They also look fabulous on Honeymoon.  Please let us know what you think!

Top 5 Truths about your Wedding

I speak to lots of brides knee-deep in wedding plans, and the same worries come up again and again, so here are my Top 5 Truths; let me know if you agree or if I have missed any.

 

1. You will fear you hate your wedding dress.  In the interminable months between ordering your dress and it actually arriving in the shop you will be wracked with terror that you have made a terrible mistake; you have ordered the wrong style or you will see something you like much better in the meantime.  Relax.  This happens extremely rarely, and if it does, that’s what Ebay is for.

2. You will at some point be disappointed in one of your bridesmaids.  You will feel hurt and bewildered when she isn’t prepared to put her own life on hold for 12 months while you plan your wedding.  Don’t worry, you are being super-sensitive and a bit mad; and when you confront her you will have it out, both cry, and then kiss and make up ready to start the planning again.

3. You will argue over the guest list.  You will think it completely unreasonable that your fiancé wants to invite ten university mates and their girlfriends who you have never met, but will wonder why he is making such a fuss about having your ex-boyfriend on table 1.

4. You will start having strange dreams.  This usually happens in the weeks before the weddings as your exhausted brain wrestles to find peace at night.  Dreams can range from the usual (arriving at the wedding late with unwashed hair in just your old vest) to the disturbing (getting to the altar to discover you are marrying your old geography teacher and your chief bridesmaid is a chimp).

5. You will panic that something will go wrong on the day, and the fact is something probably will (my specially flown in “snow white” roses had a distinctly yellow hue when they arrived).  The good news is that this is the stuff memories of made of, and it takes a lot more than a dodgy bunch of flowers to ruin the most wonderful, romantic day of your life.

Have you found your sole mate?

I hope you have found the most glamorous, twinkly, spikey, sky-scraper, to-die-for shoes for your wedding day, because you deserve no less.

However, I think we all reach an age where we are no longer prepared to have bleeding feet in the name of glamour (somewhere around 28 in my case, interested to know if you are there yet, but I digress...) so if you fear you may not make it through the night in your chosen beloved shoes, these ingenious little babies are what you need.

Folding ballet flats that pop in a tiny purse, and can be whipped out in time for your star performance in the middle of the dancefloor to the Proclaimer's "I would walk 500 miles".  Which you could happily do in these pretty pumps.

Fabulous Fascinators

Last weekend I was a guest at a very glamorous wedding in Surrey, and at nearly six months pregnant, not feeling at my most elegant.

Hats are a great way to add sophistication (and detract from a bump), so I chose this stunning curled goose feather fascinator by talented milliner Jane Taylor to accessorise my aubergine maternity dress.

I added a pair of purple Swarovski crystal chandelier earrings, and danced the night away feeling super-sassy!
